A 3-Day Technical Assistance Workshop for Writing YOUR Grant Proposal
A 3-DAY TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WORKSHOP
to help you write YOUR grant application
Competition for grant funds will increase as more people apply for local, state, federal, and foundation funds. The review process will be viewed more critically as these entities determine how they will allocate their funds in support of your programs and projects. CBE’s Grant Writing Workshop is designed to help grant writers and/or members of grant writing teams understand what grant reviewers consider when scoring and/or awarding funds. This workshop will help you leave with a nearly completed grant proposal or a detailed checklist of tasks that will aid you in the final completion of your application.
Acheivement Based Objectives
Day One
- Complete a review of your grant application by identifying key words
- Gathering data for your needs assessment
- Reviewing the application checklist
Day Two
- Reviewing and learning how to meet the selection criteria
- Writing a story to the grant reviewer with direct responses to key questions
- Understanding logic models and evaluation plans
Day Three
- Bridging your budget and cost allocation with your project proposal narrative
- Identifying the final steps needed for completion of your application
- Electronic filing tips
CBE Educational Services Inc highly recommends organizations invest in training a grant writing team. Organizations that involve staff at all levels in the input process are able to provide many “stories” that convey the data and the detail more effectively. Award winning grants capture the reviewer, in the same way a good book captures a reader. A well written grant will draw the reader (the reviewer) into the school community and make him or her want to know more about your project.
A grant writing team trained in the grant writing process with special understanding of what a reviewer uses for the scoring of and/or awarding of funds will be able to write multiple award winning grants. A trained team will also increase opportunities for developing creative and unique ways that can help meet the school’s needs and at the same time give a grantor a program or project they will want to sponsor/support.
